He worked for 17 years as a reporter and editor for The Philadelphia Inquirer, where he won several state and national awards for his investigative and business reporting, including the National Press Foundation 1998 energy reporting award. He also served as an editor on the National, Regional and Business Desks and as an adjunct professor in journalism at Temple University.
After returning to school for an MBA, he joined five former Dow Jones, Inc. execs in the launch of Internet Publishing Group, where he developed coverage plans, set editorial policies, performed market research and competitive analyses, directed marketing and helped design several business-to-business news and market data services, including one serving the competitive electric industry.
He worked as an investigator and analyst for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission from 2002 through 2010, when he joined Bloomberg Government as an analyst covering the business impact of federal regulation and policies on the energy industry.
